The staff is nice but the service is slow and a lot of items on the menu are not available. It is better to eat there in the evenings than during the day.

Lovely restaurant with good atmosphere and a very nice bar. Staff also quite pleasant and helpful. Only problem was that nearly half the menu items involve lobster but on four occasions in a fortnight there was no lobster available. One or two other menu items also unavailable at different times.

Nice place to have dinner at if at Cape Coast - order the FIsh platter 1 hour drive from Coconut Grove hotel in Cape Coast, well worth the drive The restaurant's number was hard to find but they stay open late (at least till midnight) and you should find place even w/out a reservation. we went without a reservation.

Back in the day - (before oil came to Ghana and changed everything) – Captain Hooks was the place to eat. It has been here for many years. People, (predominantly expatriates on mine sites), travelled many kms to Takoradi just to eat there. Its reputation was legendary, and to a lesser extent, still is. Changing times, competition, and attitudes now... More

Takoradi is a rough town and finding a brilliant gem like Captain Hook's made my day and saved many an evening. The food and service were excellent, clearly there is someone in the kitchen that knows how to cook. I will list the things I liked there: 1. Free WiFi 2. Staff went out of their way to change money... More

I have to say that I am not the biggest fish eater, but the fish that was brought to my wife almost changed my mind from my chicken and rise I had order. Good place and good service.

I was a regular here back in 2002 and have to say that it was the best fish restaurant I had ever eaten in. Sadly Captain Hook has since passed away and the food is not as good as back then. The fish is still quite good but not at the same level as previously. It is still worth eating... More

Came here in September 2013 for a business meeting. We had a meal in the bar. It was quick, the food was good and the service was very good. The prices were a little high. The place was not that busy, which I thought was a little strange as it was humming in here the last time I came in.

My husband and me have been here some days ago. My husband ordered fried calamari, the taste was not bad,but the result has been a very bad infection, with diarrhea, vomit and fever.Maybe if has been unlucky but I will never suggest someone to go in this restaurant.
