Surprisingly Beautiful Sitar!

After seeing many poky little Indian restaurants, Sitar is very spacious and well decorated Restaurant. Very efficient service, good wine list and Fantastic food! We had Fish tikka which was tender and delicious. Lamb cutlet, breads and Dhall Makni were also good.

Great little find!! Pros: Great menu selection (including some I hadn't seen before), extensive drinks menu (including Kingfisher beer), enthusiastic service, indoor or alfresco dining options, prompt service and great mixed dip entree. Cons: None really. But don't order big meals if you order the mixed dip ... it is huge!! Great value at about $25 / head including some... More

Years ago this was a great restaurant ... NOT ANY MORE ... can confidently say the food is not cooked fresh ... it is very ordinary!! Portion sizes are small and not even a fresh garnish on the plate .. We (4 guests) ate in the restaurant early, only a handful of people dining. Our entrees arrived separately - 5... More

The wife and I, dropped in to try out the restaurant, we ordered Chicken Pakora and Onion Pakora to start off with...both dishes were fantastic and great value. We then asked for Chicken Tikka Masala, Indian Hot...my word...the chef had exactly the right balance of heat and spice and the chicken was so succulent...even better was the rice, it had... More

Customers have to spend a while longer to be able to place orders as the staff seems to be occupied figuring out what to do. three staff members one task and 5 customers in a queqe. Now I have to wait 30 min for the food.

I've been going to Sitar Albion for almost 14 years and recently (6 March 2015) paid a visit with my wife for dinner. We were not disappointed. We ordered Chicken Tikka (entree) where the chicken was very tender and the mint sauce balancing these flavours well. Mains was Palak Paneer with rice and a Pershawi (fruit & nut) naan. All... More

Set in a cosy, colourful off street area, this outdoor section of Sitar was perfect for my needs for a solo dinner. Service was friendly and helpful with my dietary requirements. I was offered a complimentary salad in lieu of roti. It was a tasty meal with a variety of small spicy bites with just the right amount of heat.... More

We recently celebrated a couple of family birthdays here (group of 10). We enjoyed the banquet which had something for everyone (you get to choose a curry each), includes starters, tandoori meats, rice and accompaniments like mango chutney, raita. We ordered garlic Naan bread too (yum). I had a prawn masala curry which was delicious. The butter chicken was a... More

Lovely restaurant, very popular, particularly for takeaway. First night we had a wonderful selection, based on our waiter's advice, second night still good, but not so spectacular - they were changing the wine list and we didn't like the second choice so much as the first one.

Sitar is a nice restaurant. The dining rooms look al little outdated, but the food definitely makes up for that! And if you, after a good dinner, can walk out the door without emptying your entire wallet, it is simply great! Recommended for those traveling on a budget!
