Three of us went to the beach at Portreath which is a beautiful place, the Waterfront is just across from the beach and we found it pretty much by accident, there were very few customers but it was a nice environment to spend an afternoon. The place is a bit dated but it was clean and so were the glasses... More

We went for my birthday treat in the middle of August expecting everywhere to be choc-a-bloc at this time of year. The website, recent reviews, and location seemed all favourable in our choice. The reception was slightly fraught, around the celebrated and well documented car parking issue, with the friendly greeting from (who I understood to be) the landlord, which... More

Good food, wonderful steak and ale pie, great to see all the pictures on the wall that tell the history of Portreath. Bit pricey for pub grub.

As its name suggests this imposing pub/hotel is set right on the beach in the bustling surfing village of Portreath. The inn caters well for wide range of customers from surfing “dudes” in the front bar to families in the large restaurant and more formal functions such as weddings. The Sunday lunch carvery is excellent value for money, plenty of... More

Unwelcoming. No conversation. For someone in the hospitality trade quite miserable. Would not visit again. Tea was awful! Toilet signs in Cornish which is fair enough and all for keeping to one's culture but at least have a picture to assist visitors. Tried to engage in conversation re pronounciation of names. Still miserable! Too interested in watching TV and eating... More

Don't even pull into the car park, you will get a ticket - they use ArmTrac and hand out tickets like sweeties, we just got hit for £100 after spending a few hours in the pub. Bad Attitude from the owner and the patronising staff - will never drink their again and would recommend you not to if you want... More

Thank you for your review the parking tickets for our car park are free, they are for people who are using the pub, unfortunately because of our position our car park gets abused by people who are swimming in the harbour or going to the beach, this then makes it unavailable for pub customers. after you left a customer pointed... This inn is just a few miles from home my wife and her mom of 97 years of age, accompanied me to enjoy a break from the normal everyday tasks. I parked, and was handed a parking permit for a 2 hour stay, This is very necessary in a popular and very busy holiday area. Sadly visitors will look for... More

As a local I have visited this pub many of times, I can say that most of the times I have been here I have been pleased however this time I was greeted by a very rude and unfriendly landlord. The pub requires you to have a parking permit so I parked and went into get mine. I asked for... More

We have been here several times for the odd beer. The first thing is GET A CAR PARK TICKET FROM THE BAR. It doesn't cost anything and there are notices. The pub suffers from people wanting to park for the beach. Anyway, we had a couple of beers and some lasagne and curry. For the money we thought the food... More
