Amazing Roast but charging extra for gravy is embarrassing !

I went with my girlfriend and we enjoyed a lovely Roast dinner... ill keep this review short and sweet... Roast = Amazing....Charging £1 for extra gravy when they barely put a couple of tablespoons of gravy on my plate= embarrassing !

Visited on a Sunday and the restaurant was jam packed luckily enough we had booked a table. Menu had loads to choose from. Only downside is there wasn't a single chicken dish (and that's all I eat) but manager quickly sorted that out and the chef made me up a dish with the best sweet potato fries I've ever had!... More

I visited the restaurant for a Sunday lunch with my family having been previously back in March for my husband's birthday. When we came before we had fantastic service and the place was heaving, hence why we chose to return for another occasion. This time was very different. The food was excellent, although I only had one slice of pork... More

I am allergic to so many foods (carry an epipen) that dining out is a nightmare! We wanted to meet with friends and they suggested The Cricketers for lunch. I checked online the menu and rang to make a booking informing them of my allergies. I was told they'd speak to the head chef and from previous experiences I wasn't... More

Very nice experience, good surrounding, food, drinks and friendly staff. I would like to visit this place again sometime in future. I liked the homely atmosphere.

I recently had Sunday lunch at this pub with my family. We were warmly greeted by the front of house staff and served very good food - the roast dinners were delicious. The only factor that somehow spoilt the experience was the young waiter and waitress who served us. There was no warmth and they did the bare minimal they... More

My second visit caused by a wish to eat outside on a sunny day watching a cricket match across the road. What sounded attractive was a multi-roast for £15 with beef, pork and duck as well as the trimmings. It arrived quite promptly but it was harder to have some basic condiments brought. Normally, different meats are served separated. These... More

We were visiting a friend who lives locally who suggested we try The Cricketers for lunch. We couldn't get parked at the pub so left our car down a side road and walked back. We spoke to the chap behind the bar who gave us menus and made our way to the tables in the garden. We were quickly asked... More

We booked a table and found the pub to be very nicely decorated. Many quirky features on the wall. Food was great although would recommend this pub for a special occasion as it is quite expensive but worth it! We both had the steak and it was huge and cooked perfectly. No complaints. The cocktail menu is very good, I... More

I visited on bank holiday Monday and never pre booked, was given a table outside and as the weather was lovely we were happy! The restaurant and bar were really busy and I expected to wait a while for our food but it came in about 15 mins. We had lamb shoulder and a burger the lamb was massive and... More
