Today we visited Odcombe which is a fabulous ham stone village tucked off the beaten track with commanding views of Somerset and beyond. The Masons Arms is a charming village pub with a picturesque thatch and ancient honey coloured walls. The interior also has the feel of 'Days gone by', with cosy corners and candle lit tables. We had a... More

Very pleasant pub with a good mix of locals socialising and restaurant guests. Home to a boutique brewery .producing some good tasting ales Quality of food served is generally good although there have been times recently when that quality has, I'm afraid, been questioned.

The Mason's Arms is not that easy to find, especially if you go to the wrong, upper, part of the village as we did! Once there, however, the warm welcome, excellent attentive service and pleasing cottagy interior all calm the nerves. We were very late on a Sunday, just squeaking in before their deadline of 2.00, but it was as... More

After a lovely and not too strenuous walk in the area of Odcombe and Montacute we some former colleagues, we settled down to some serious catching up at his pub. There was an instance warm welcome and a good choice of food with some interesting specials that you don't often see. The meals took a while to come but this... More

We attended a wedding at the nearby Brympton House and came for a meal the night before the wedding as they recommended it I wish we hadn't bothered though The food when it finally arrived was cold and the girl serving me seemed more interested in carrying on a conversation with her mate behind the bar then listening to me

We were staying the night and also decided to eat in the pub. We had reserved a table and sat on two comfy chairs near the bar. Couple of pints and then some wine - there is a good choice. We skipped the starters and went straight for the liver and bacon and the paella. The paella that I ate... More

We haven't been here for a while but it hasn't changed. A lovely village pub, that welcomes dogs ( well behaved )that brews it's own beer on the premises. We had the roast chicken and beef, good sized portions with fresh veg. Could have been a tad warmer but tasted good. I was driving so had Drews homemade elderflower cordial,... More

Another lovely lunch at the Masons yesterday - sat outside in the pretty garden. This is a regular place for us as we live nearby and can walk there, mainly for lunch on a Saturday or the full works on a Sunday. Fantastic goats cheese, roasted veg & basil pesto panini, served on a wooden board with a side of... More

Stayed for 2 nights in our motorhome in the lovely little campsite owned by the pub and had lunch and dinner here. Both meals were excellent, especially the steaks we had for dinner that were cooked beautifully, exactly to our liking and the desserts were delicious too. Lovely friendly and efficient staff, great atmosphere and good value. A great combination,... More

My group of 5 friends and myself chose the Masons Arms this month for our regular get together. Nice and cool inside on a hot summers evening. Good range of choices on the menu. Food is very well presented and staff are great, although looked a bit short in numbers (chef served us at the bar after a bit of... More
