Really enjoyed the food here. Was a lovely place and child and dog friendly as well which is always a plus. Will be going back again for sure. Had some good veggy options too which is good for us. Lovely service as well

Having been before, we knew the food should be good. It wasn't that busy, just a few tables with Reserved signs It must have taken an hour for our main course to arrive - no explanation, no apology. I had the cod, which although it tasted lovely, was a tiny portion (about 100g I would think). Two of us decided... More

I am really disappointed to read this review. The circumstance surrounding the problems earlier in June were exceptional, and have been rectified. Please can you contact the pub directly on paula@masonsarmsodcombe.co.uk with the date of your visit so we can investigate fully. I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for your experience and to assure you that we... More

Having been here before we were really looking forward to a nice meal with friends only to be very disappointed. We knew there would be a wait for the rabbit pie 3 of us ordered, but after 1 hour and still no food had to ask someone why. All we got was an apology and excuses: everyone came in at... More

I'm so sorry you had such disappointing evening with us last week, we didn't really enjoy ourselves either that night... I can only apologise again for our shortcomings and hope that you will feel inclined to visit again sometime and experience the much better side to our business. More

We eat here every few months when visiting a relative who lives in the area. Always a warm welcome, and with the lovely atmosphere of a traditional 'local' village pub serving consistently delicious and imaginative food in comfortable surroundings, we'll keep coming back! Highly recommend this place.

We want planning to just have the roast, however when we saw the menu we couldn't resist having a starter and dessert as well. Pigeon breast and scallops to start, both lovely flavours but the scallops could have been a tad warmer. Roast chicken and beef to follow with fresh veg selection and the most amazing Yorkshire puddings. Again could... More

A couple of miles from where we live, in a quiet village, it sells its own excellent beers and has a very good food menu. Beautiful garden to sit in.

We have been before and find it a decent venue for food and their own brewed on the premises Real Ale. The Beer on the CAMRA scoring system is consistently 3.5 to 4, making it well worth a visit for the beer alone. Well presented meals, we had the quality Roast Beef, my son in law the fish cakes which... More

A lovely mid festivities meal. Service was excellent, staff very friendly and joined in our banter. Real ale is brewed on the premises and well worth a try. We had home made tomato and chill soup with bread and cheese on the side for a starter, unusual but very tasty. Belly pork starter is one to definitely try as well. The... More

So many country pubs try to pretend to be something they are not with over ambitious menus (a jus reduction has no place in English pub), the Masons Arms stick to small and traditional pub menu and does it really well. Firstly the pub looks great inside and out. When travelling through villages such as Odcombe you often see a... More
