We visited for an evening meal and were very impressed with the service we received, The food tasted fantastic and also looked great on the plate. The staff also explained the flavours used in each dish as they arrived at the table. The restaurant was very busy with a friendly relaxed atmosphere.Highly recommended.

Having visited The Treby many times we were excited to try the SS. It did not disappoint. Food was excellent. Relaxed setting, service good but informal. Beats snooty waiters! We didn't order the Sunday Roast but that did look lovely. We loved all our dishes. Anton excels at presentation, but the food tastes as good as it looks

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Springer Spaniel in pleasant surroundings. The food was delicious with many of Anton's distinctive flavour combinations. The staff were very attentive and knew about what constitutes each dish on the menu. This venue is well worth a visit if you want to have a memorable meal.

Went to the springer for a retirement lunch, with 7 of us eating. Food was excellent - I had steak & duck egg sandwich which was amazing! Only issue is that I would have really loved to have had the triple cooked chips - they are amazing!! Had the most fantastic dessert - treby carrot - just stunning!!!! Not a... More

We went to The Springer Spaniel on recommendation. As we have three Springer Spaniels ourselves it was a must. We booked and were glad we did, it was very busy, full on a Friday lunchtime. Both my wife and I chose the Steak and Guinness pudding, and what a delight it was. I have had another steak and kidney pudding... More

So we started off with a lovely walk from our accomodation to get our appetites going. Just as well as we then had 5 courses! From the off the waitresses were very good, light hearted and attentive. For my starter I chose the beetroot and goats cheese foam. I really loved the goat's cheese foam, it had an almost blue... More

My husband and I booked a table for our anniversary. Dogs welcome in the main pub was useful as we are on holiday and have no one to leave him with. Staff were very attentive, relaxed and looked as if they were proud to bring each dish out. My starter, pork cheek was gorgeous but quite expensive (£7) my husband... More

Enjoyed dinner at the Springer several times now since the take over. This being the 3rd time seated at our favourite little table in the fireplace which we requested, and might I just add, in no way, shape or form smells of soot, has cobwebs dangling nor do you need a candle to read the menu!!!!!! Service by the staff... More

I am not easy to cater for bordering on vegan and with forewarning the chef at the Springer Spaniel made so much effort and produced a really magical meal for me. Following this we are looking to bring our Christmas do here with lots more vegetarians to cater for! My friends who were meat eaters felt it was one of... More
