We live locally and over the years the Springer has not been the greatest place to eat at. So when we found out that it was under new ownership we decided to give it another go, and rightly so as we were not disappointed. The Springer isn't the biggest of restaurants but when we haven't booked a table we have... More

Discovered this pub is now owned by Anton Piotrowski - professional masterchef winner 2012, so we were determined to try it. We went on a cold and frosty Sunday evening in January and the pub was fairly quiet, but the hospitality and welcome was warm and friendly. We had an outstanding meal and I would strongly recommend a visit. I... More

I cannot rate this place any higher the food is out of this world with an exciting menu and enthusiastic staff. The team are more than accommodating where possible and the atmosphere is lovely. Visited now 6 times in as many months and always found something different on the menu

We enjoyed a relaxing Sunday Lunch here .Faultless in every way and a bargain to find the Sunday set lunch just £20.Worth the drive from St Mawes,Cornwall.Only complaint is there is nothing on a par at this price and quality to match nearer to us .

We ate here last night as was staying in the area and it was recommended. My only gripe would be !!! Booking a table, we rang, e, mailed used their message system, rang again, no reply for days. In the end our B n B owner got through, not good for a business to acknowledge calls etc, and needs addressing.... More

We are so lucky to be within walking distance of this gastro pub and eat there regularly. The food is better than ever since Masterchef Winner Anton took it over a year ago. He has recently received a Michelin star for the Springer's sister pub The Treby Arms at Sparkwell. The food is always visually beautiful and tastes wonderful. When... More

Came here on a quiet Monday evening with the fiance for dinner. In the spirit of trying new food and new places to eat, we went for a duck scotch egg ensemble, a pheasant sausage roll ensemble and a venison main with beetroot risotto. The staff were friendly, welcoming and brilliant. The food, well, it was out of this world.... More

Visiting from Berkshire, we had an early dinner at the Springer Spaniel last night with family members now living in Launceston... How lucky are they to have this culinary gem on their doorstep?!! The food was absolutely top notch. A quality rarely found in restaurants and certainly never found in pubs! This seems to be a new way for aspiring... More

We haven't been to the Springer Spaniel for over 5 years after a really bad meal under the previous owner. Knowing that Anton had taken over and the good vibes coming from his other restaurant we looked forward to eating here. We were not disappointed. The staff made you feel welcome straight away and let you settle down before trying... More
