A Serious, good restaurant

Have been eating here once or twice a year since they opened. Cooking is a good as you will get anywhere, we are always greeted and the setting on a Summer evening is wonderful. A great and sophisticated experience. Prices are well above the local inns, but this is Not a pub.

Absolutely delightful little restaurant. The couple who own this place are clearly passionate about food, as it shows in their care and attention in the meals they provide and the service they give. This place is not cheap, so don't expect to pay pub grub prices. We came here for a special occasion and were well looked after, so worth... More

What a fantastic experience this was. Upon arriving we were greeted and shown into an area with comfy chairs and settees. The lady, I think who’s name was Carole, asked us what we would like to drink and gave us the menus to look at. After being shown to our table we ordered our starter and main meals. We could... My wife and I went here on the recommendation of our B&B hosts nearby. We were warned that it wouldn't be cheap but you get what you pay for.....they were right. The owners made you feel so welcome and were extremely attentive. The ambience of the restaurant was excellent. Not large portions, but perfectly adequate and being quite rich in... More

My partner and I had received a recommendation to visit having recently moved to the area. We were not disappointed! The venue is compact but has a great atmosphere and is in a lovely location. The staff are very attentive and the chef came round to each table after service to check all was well. The food was first class!... More

Last day of our holiday on the broads and this is still the perfect place for the occasion. A warm welcome in a comfortable seating area before going through to the restaurant for beautifully cooked and presented food. The Mermaid's Slipper is a real treat and we look forward to what is becoming our annual visit.

Holidaying on the Norfolk Broads is very relaxed and informal. What a wonderful treat to find this restaurant -'a real gem' in a sea of ordinary pub grub eating places. Luckily we pre booked to secure a table, being met by the delightful Carol was a real treat and made us feel really special. A lovely opportunity to 'dress up'... More

Discovered by chance whilst on a boating holiday. A very short walk from Richardson's boatyard so readily accessible by boaters. Need to book. Beautifully restored building including part of an old lime kiln. Excellent service and ambience. Food - stunningly good. Thoroughly recommend it for a memorable "special night out".
