Minnie's restaurant, a hidden gem in the small village of Kapaau on the far Northern tip of Hawaii Island, an area called North Kohala. Minnie's in my humble opinion is by far the finest restaurant in our area for a variety of reasons. Literally everything is fresh, nothing frozen. The menu is limited which is just fine by me as... I was looking for a place to grab lunch, and I figured I'd stop somewhere in Hawi. I drove by Minnie's and was attracted by their sign, which was an interesting tropical design with a bit of a graffiti motif. Being a Monday in a slow tourist part of the year it was quiet in the restaurant. Hospitality was fantastic,... More

Friday night at 6:00PM begins your adventure. This is definitely a locals restaurant because most tourist miss it. Friday night features prime rib and lobster for $30.00...best buy in the state. BYOB. Great service, great food, and always enjoyable to meet new friends and the lucky tourists who found it. Reservations on Friday night's a must as they sell out... More

Stopped here on a lark, and what a great experience. Had the fish of the day. Great meal and great service! Definitely a restaurant to add to your list!

EVERY bite of pork was tender. It was so juicy, I could have had it without the gravy. You get three scoops of rice, or you can substitute without charge. So we had one scoop of rice, one of coleslaw and one of green salad. The tropical coleslaw with bits of apple worked very well with the rich gravy and... More

My wife and I were in the Hawi area in early October. There are some decent restaurants in Hawi, but their hours are so irregular it's sometimes difficult to find a good lunch. While standing and grumbling in front of a restaurant there, a local suggested Minnie's just a couple of miles away in Kapa'au. It was easy to find... More

It is good place for small village. Food was fresh and good. Service was Ok. Price was slightly more expensive. Restaurant has outdoor seating but along road and car parking. That is not bad because there are not a lot of cars. I would say it is good place if you will be there.

Simple, fresh and friendly meals on offer here. I had the fresh grilled mahi mahi sandwich and my partner the kalua pork sandwich. Both of us were satisfied and the food delicious. Good iced tea!

Ono and Amberjack are my favorites. This is the best Ono I've eaten. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Moist. Could not be any fresher. Simple place with that Hawaiian feel and Aloha service.

We were in the area for a late lunch and we're given this address from a local so we jumped at it. The food is good and prices very reasonable. Would stop buy again if I was in town.
