Good meal and service in the back streets

We chose this after looking at reviews and the menu (interesting after all the restaurants on the waterfront seemed to have the same menu). It was set in the alleyways at the top of the old town. Quite windy when we sat down but the wind died as the sun went down and we had a lovely evening. We... read more

I had lunch with my husband - my choice was fish soup for starter and grilled fish steak (a fish similar to tuna) with mangold as the main course. However, the soup and side dish were spoilt by Vegeta (Croatian old fashioned, all purpose spice full of MSG). My husband's starter with goat cheese was OK, but the main dish,... More

Better to avoid it and spend your money somewhere else. Poor quality of the food, which seemed frozen on squid and shrimps. Squid came over cooked/burnt and the fried shrimps with soja, garlic and cognac (??!!) where too many for beeing fresh and untasty. Obviously, our experience was not as good as many others users had.

First night we choose this restaurant of all and we ate here every other night during our stay. Food combinations are really interesting and tasteful. Service is excellent. Tall, blond waiter is super! He share with us some really interesting informations about Korčula. I highly recommend this place!

The first thing we noticed was the cosy terrace and sat down for a cold drink. We had a look at the map and the menu looked very inviting. We started with garlic breads and tzatziki. We had a few brought to us as a taster with our aperitif. A little later came a full plate with more delicious sauce... More

Arrived here after walking out of restaurant Filippi after being ignored there by the surly waiting staff! Well, what a difference a couple of streets make! When we arrived there was no table available, but we were asked if we would mind waiting, so went for a beer at the cafe around the corner for 30 minutes, came back and... More

A night before, in a restaurant just across the ally, we had a terrible experience with the service. The staff at Mareta has won out heart with its kind service, coupled with excellent food, which is a mixture of local cuisine and modern/fusion kitchen. This place also has the largest vegetarian menu we had in our week in Croatia.

Stumbled across this great little gem, just off the square in front of the church in the centre of the walled town. Wide range of dishes from curry to traditional Croatian dishes. Good service, cheap but drinkable house wine by the glass and a good range of meals at all prices. Venture from the circuit around the walls and you... More

For a "konoba" with nearly a five star rating I was expecting something similar to my experience thus far in western Croatia. I have been in Dubrovnik for the past 3 days and just arrived in Korcula tonight. The menu prices are OK and the service was at times non existent. For a fish soup we paid 24 Kuna, a... More
