We stopped at Barbakoa after visiting the rainforest just to get a drink. We decided too eat there because Janet, the owner, was so cordial and accommodating. Behind this roadside restaurant lies a most beautiful rock stream that you can wade in while waiting for your food! What a nice surprise that was! The food was delicious and you couldn't... More

We came here after we found the name online, the river is right here and is the closest way that you can have a meal Yunque style. The food is five star ( I'm a chef) believe me is 5 star they used the island ingredients in a different way and new styles. We had the surf and Turf, having... More

We stopped at this place on the way out of the El Yunque Rainforest. The restaurant has a definite island feel. The food we had was good - wings with guava sauce, beef pockets, and rice with sausage. The beer was really cold and refreshing. The restaurant is situated alongside a scenic river. While we ate, we also enjoyed watching... More

The food was excellent, our server Eric was knowledgable and did a great job. The ambiance was amazing, we ate on a small table next to a stream while it showered on and off. It was awesome. Probably more than I wanted to pay but most P.R. seems to overcharge for food.

We stopped by in our way down from climbing El Yunque. The place is big and the river runs on the back of the property so you have a nice experience sitting in open air and close to nature. What is not so nice are the prices. Food is average by Puerto Rican's standards and their house drink (a green... More

This was a fun place to stop & have dinner on our way out of the rainforest. It's not fancy- open air, mostly outdoor seating with tiki torches by the river and a fun bar area with dance music. The restroom is very modern & clean, especially since the atmosphere is so casual. The staff is very welcoming & friendly... More

The seating is all outside (some covered areas) at the bottom of the Rain Forest and beside a shallow tributary of the Rio Grande. My kids (ages 5 & 7) played with the owners grandson (age 9) in the shallow tributary while waiting for our meal. We were treated and greeted very kindly and the scenary was beautiful. The food...
