After being at the rainforest my friends and I were starving so on the way down we decided to stop at Barbakoa. The welcoming was good. There was 11 of us. The waitress was a mess. She was all confused with the plates. She didn't have a good attitude about us being there. Told us we needed to vary our... More

My husband was dieing of cancer so our family made a long-postponed trip to PR. We stumbled on this restaurant on our way to El Junque and came back to spend my husband's last birthday there. Every Saturday they have live jazz (probably still 2 to 7 PM but call to confirm) and that day, Luis Ocasio, an AMAZING keyboard... More

Found this restaurant on trip advisor and I am so grateful. This was the best meal we had the whole vacation. Authentic food, PR chicken tenders and fries for the kids along with shirley temples with gummy worms in them, while my husband and I ate the real deal. The scenery is at the base of the rainforest along a... More

Had an awesome dinner at Barbakoa! We tried to eat here one evening after we had seen it on the way to and from the El Yunque rain forest and when we pulled up the owners were closing up because due to the recent heavy rain, the river right beside the restaurant was running very fast and they wanted to... Food was great drinks were ok a little pricey but average for the touristy area. The view was nice and they even brought out big spray for us incase we needed it.

Went today for a late lunch. It was raining and the crew welcomed us with their umbrellas. Sangria was very good, though not too sweet if you are expecting the sugary type. We tried the appetizer combo and every piece in it was great. Eric took care of our table and was very helpful with his suggestions. Food was very... More

The location is great - after a long hike in El Yunque you come out of the rainforest to this little cafe on the river bank. The wait staff is also great - really went above & beyond to do anything they could. The food is a bit overpriced for what it is, but that's fairly typical of touristy spots.... More

We decided to give this place a try mostly because of its proximity to the rainforest and the pretty views in the area. We started off with some sangria which was quite good and the Mofongitas Appetizer which was awesome—fried yucca balls with a delicious cilantro oil. For our main course, we shared ribs which were ok, but not great,... More

Conveniently located outside El Yunge Rainforest along a scenic river. The fried Yuca with Cilantro sauce was amazing, the drinks were also good. We split BBQ ribs, which were good but not outstanding.

This was an unexpected find after a day of hiking in the rain forest. The atmosphere is perfect, right on the river and outside a great way to wind down with a beer after a long day of outdoor activity. We had the sausage appetizer, the sauce with it was sooooo good. I forget the meal we had, but it... More
