We stopped here twice while staying a week in Luquillo. The pan sobao is deliciously soft and sweet. We brought a few loafs back to Houston. Abelando is very kind and gave me a pastry to try that I asked about. Our breakfasts was delicious and cheap! Everything is very fresh and their coffee was so good!!!

Wonderful family owned bakery. We stopped here several times on our trip. The bakery is fresh and tasty as well as the lunch sandwiches.

We read about this bakery on TA and stopped for breakfast (coming from Wyndham resort it was a quick drive) before heading out hiking in El Yunque. They have a decent pastry selection as well as sandwiches all for incredibly reasonable prices. Service was fast and efficient. My boyfriend ordered something that seemed to be a cross between a cheese... More

Listen here! If you stay at the Wyndam Rio Mar in Rio Grande Puerto Rico or any other place near the El Yunque Rain Forest, this is an absolute MUST STOP! If you turn to the North off of Hwy 3 East of San Juan, look for the Burger King on the corner. Right behind the Burger King is an... More

Staying at overpriced local hotel where breakfast was $40...got 2 cafe con leche...perfecto!.... Two egg platters with ham and cheese and four slices of toasted PR sweet bread...all for under $10! Not to mention the pastries are excellent and large portions at reasonable prices...they have menus in English as well if you need one...

We ate breakfast here on our first morning staying at the Wyndham Resort in Rio Grande and two days during the following week. Terrific savory breakfast sandwiches (pan de agua-- it's like french bread, or pan de sobao- sweeter, like the cuban sandwich bread) and wonderful sweets for the kids (donuts and more specialized treats). Like all places we visited... More

I have recently been to this place for evening dessert and for a morning breakfast. The food is overall good and typical for Puerto Rico. I found the service great and the place was very busy with the locals, mainly picking up the freshly baked loafs of bread - obviously a favorite. The pastries tended to be a little dried... More

I had read reviews about La Familia 2 online before going to PR & knew it would be a stop we would make. However, we ate the THREE TIMES during our trip! Amazing food, great employees & wonderful prices! The owner even sent some yummies for the plane with us for free! This needs to be a MUST on your... More
