Description: Authentic Puerto Rican & Cuban Food. Many people write about it in their reviews of the Rio Mar in Rio Grande, PR. I would love to write a review about this place as it was the best Mofungo (fried mashed plantains) we had in PR (and we tried it in 4 restaurants).

Had read favorable reviews and I have to agree. Had the crab mofungo and sangria. Both excellent. Would definitely go back.

Wonderful food. First time having monfongo and it was superb. My husband had the Churrasco steak and it was the most tender Churrasco I have ever had. The atmosphere was fun and full of flair. Our waiter had a great personality and was very attentive. If you are heading to Farjaro or Ceiba stop in!

This place used to be good (circa 2013). They've since changed chefs or done something drastically different because when we visited the restaurant in 2014, the food was horrible. Everything we ate tasted like it had been dipped fish oil. A pungent fish flavor permeated every dish.

We stayed in Puerto Rico for 8 days and ate at Don Pepe's 3 times. It was the best food and value that we found during our stay. They have great authentic Puerto Rican food and have a nice blend of American food with it as well. It is a nice little restaurant and the staff are very friendly and... More

One of the servers at our hotel recommended this place to us. He said mofongo is a staple of Puerto Rican cuisine and said he loved to eat at Don Pepe's himself. We went for dinner and were welcomed by the friendly staff there. I would describe the dining room as "cozy" as the tables were in very close proximity... More

Good atmosphere with live jazz and good food. We both had the red snapper. One with crab meat and the other without. We were both pleased and will return first chance we get.

I visit the place for first time with my girlfriend and a group of friends. We was staying in the Gran Meliá Golf Resort Puerto Rico. We was looking for a hometown place to eat and we found this place. I try the Chicken Breast filled with sweet plantain in guava sauce & white rice with coconut. Great Taste and... More

We were staying at a beach house nearby and wanted a good place to have a late dinner not expensive and decided to come here after seeing the good reviews. We were not disappointed at all the mojitos, mofongo and such a great service. Will definitely come back

I went this past weekend to Don Pepe's because at the hotel told me that was a good place to eat. For my surprise it was a nice place with nice food but slack of service. My waiters only went to the table one time maybe too to ask for drink. I stand up about two to three time and... More
