Description: Authentic Puerto Rican & Cuban Food. Many people write about it in their reviews of the Rio Mar in Rio Grande, PR. I would love to write a review about this place as it was the best Mofungo (fried mashed plantains) we had in PR (and we tried it in 4 restaurants).

We went to a late dinner here one night and seemed to be the only non-locals in the place. We sat upstairs and got great service. We ordered chorizo in white wine as an appetizer and split fish mofongo. Our food was delicious and more than enough for us both. Everyone seemed very friendly and if we would have been... More

We stopped in on a recommendation by our valet attendant... Andrea had her first Mofongo, and wasn't disappointed.. I had fajitas, and they were cooked in a Teriyaki style sauce that left me licking the plate! I hope I get to go again before we leave.

Went with family to have dinner and just loved the place. The service was excellent and the food superb!!! We ordered the Creole Sample Platter as an appetizer and everything was good, but my favorite was the bolitas de yuca (fried yuccas). For dinner I ordered the "filete de mero" - local fish, grilled and with vegetables...it was delicious!!! "Chillo... More

This was the last supper we had before leaving, Service was excellent as was the food. I am a vegetarian and they were very willing to let me know they had vegetarian dishes. The menu has a great variety to choose from. One table had children and the server had put a kids movie on the tv for them. Nice... More

Local Exterior presentation is not good. Be careful with stairs up to second floor. Service and Good food are excellent.

My family and I have been visiting Puerto Rico for the past fourteen years. We have gone to many restaurants, and Don PePe's was the worst experience we've had in those fourteen years. We waited about fifteen minutes before we were even greeted. Then, we watched as the servers sat three groups that arrived after us. They kept referring to... More

We are a young couple who recently came back from Puerto Rico. We went to Don Pepe's once just to try it out but we ended up going back a couple more times. Really tasty food! Their crab fried rice with fried plantain is simply divine!!! We also watched a few World Cup matches there. Great spot and relatively affordable... More
