Description: Authentic Puerto Rican & Cuban Food. Many people write about it in their reviews of the Rio Mar in Rio Grande, PR. I would love to write a review about this place as it was the best Mofungo (fried mashed plantains) we had in PR (and we tried it in 4 restaurants).

Don Pepès gumbo had delicious flavor and not like any gumbo I've ever had being from Texas. Had a slight frijoles a la charra soup flavor. The swordfish with caper sauce was amazing and the side of red bean and yellow rice was a perfect combination. The Chuleta can can was a huge beautifully plated beast of pork! Deicious!

Entered restaurant on a Sunday night at 7:30pm. Only waited 10 minutes for a table so things looking good. That's where it ended. We ordered and then sat, talked with 3 other groups of patrons that came and went, had pleasant discussions with some folks from Wisconsin, and a couple that were from North Carolina. They all ate and left.... More

Had read favorable reviews and I have to agree. Had the crab mofungo and sangria. Both excellent. Would definitely go back.

Wonderful food. First time having monfongo and it was superb. My husband had the Churrasco steak and it was the most tender Churrasco I have ever had. The atmosphere was fun and full of flair. Our waiter had a great personality and was very attentive. If you are heading to Farjaro or Ceiba stop in!

This place used to be good (circa 2013). They've since changed chefs or done something drastically different because when we visited the restaurant in 2014, the food was horrible. Everything we ate tasted like it had been dipped fish oil. A pungent fish flavor permeated every dish.
