We are unable to comment on the quality of the food as we did not stay long enough to find out. We were a celebratory party of four, booked for a friend's birthday, but found the reception frosty from the start. Even the taking of our coats seemed a chore. Our spirits were falling as we took our table. Not... More

Port-Vendres is a small village so unfortunately there is not a huge choice of restaurants so people tend to end up here by default. I've lived here for just over a year and wanted to go somewhere 'nice' for my birthday. Despite many warnings from other locals the thought of fresh seafood (it is a fishing port!) and the sunny... Overlooking the harbour from a raised terrace this restaurant and the fish market (around the corner) are the two best places in town to eat. Very good value and delicious lunch made with great flair and local ingredients.

We had dinner here and shared a Dorade Royal between 3 as well as 2 other meals. The fish was excellent (30 Euros each) and very nicely served by attentive waiteresses. Very nice selection of wines and nice desserts. The menu choice is not extensive but is fair as they are not trying to be a lower end restaurant. Great... More

If you want really fresh fish overlooking a typical working French fishing port, then this place is for you. We had lobster salad so fresh and with large, succulent pieces of lobster; cabaillaud and more that melted in the mouth; and delicious desserts. Our first choice of rose was rather too dry, but was replaced without fuss or drama. This... More

Foolishly I chose the beef in a fish restaurant and I've had far better quality in UK. My partners fish was excellent. Quite pricey but well cooked, well presented and on the terrace a superb environment c Most definitely the best in the area.

Great food, good location, good service....consistently fine food served with flair and an eye for detail. Sort of a special night out venue... Will not disappoint ...

We took the family to eat at this recommended restaurant and have to say we were disappointed. We always take our children with us for dinner, but our mistake was not checking in advance that they catered for children, as they clearly didn't. They were however obliging and allowed us to have smaller portions, but the options were too adventureous... More

Maybe the best value for fine dining on the Cote Vermeille. Fine cuisine at reasonable prices - not the great views in the upscale restaurant, but refined setting on the back of the port. The more casual upstairs open terrace in summer is wonderful - reasonable, bonne cuisine, large portions and a view!! Worth the detour around the port. On... More

We have visited this restaurant several times since it opened a few years ago. The lunch menu of the day served on an open air upstairs terrace overlooking the marina is good value. Our only criticism is the service is a bit disorganised and the waiters have a tendency to be forgetful.
