Description: On crossing the wooden bridge that leads to Ristorante Pappagallo, you will see swimming beneath there are sleek silvery tarpon, always on the lookout for scraps from the kitchen. You are thus, thrown into a world of the exotic, even before reaching the front door! Then, as you enter the spacious foyer, you're met at the front door by an African gray parrot, humorously called Humphrey Bogart. He is one of the oldest Pappagallo employees with over ten years experience in welcoming guests and posing for photos (especially with the little ones!). You will then immediately notice the inviting and well-stocked bar, decorated in an art deco style, where customers can take pre-dinner drinks or enjoy an after dinner drink in a cool and inviting atmosphere. On your right hand side, lies one of our two dining rooms, the Pappagallo Room. Inside, the impressive high ceiling will grab your attention, with its typical Mexican-style thatching. Wrought iron lights gently illuminate the air-conditioned room and huge glass-fronted bird cages feature all around the walls housing live parrots, macaws, cockatoos and African grays, all vying for your attention. The walls are also decorated with colorful pictures of parrots and a giant turtle shell which came from a 500 pound green sea turtle, which was raised in Cayman at West Bay's Turtle Farm. All this, and a great view of the waterfall cascading into the lagoon directly outside the room... how can you possibly forget that you are dining in a tropical paradise? On your left hand side of the foyer is the Flamingo Room, also with a fabulous thatched roof, this time in a traditional Cayman style. The entire roofing used 100,000 fronds and took over 6 months to construct - no mean feat. The Flamingo Room is left open to catch the cooling breeze, but is air-conditioned when the weather dictates. Here, you can enjoy a fabulous panoramic view over the lagoon. Large prints of flamingos decorate the walls and again, wrought iron lights lend their soft glow.Beyond this room lies a third eating area, the Garden Patio, a large screened- in porch where diners eat al fresco during the cooler winter months. This also has a magnificent lagoon view and Pappagallo usually caters for large parties & weddings here.

We had a wonderful meal here and all the staff are so nice and friendly. The restaurant was full so be advised to book but all the staff coped well and we were not made to wait. The fish was fresh and we wanted to change a couple of things which was no bother at all. Well worth a visit.

Great Restaurant! Excellent service by Andrea and all the staff. We have been to some pretentious restaurants in Grand Cayman - this is not one of them- it is a great place to eat and friendly at the same time! The food was excellent and when I could not make up my mind Andrea offered a 1/2 and 1/2 of... More

Had a great time at this restaurant. The best service I have ever had. Let's just say that my water was always full. The Buba dish was a hit at our table. Best dish our family of six ordered. Very friendly staff and amazing atmosphere.

We recently returned to Pappagallo after several years. We started out by telling our waiter, Francesco, we had been disappointed with other meals on the island earlier in the week. He did an awesome job making sure it would be one of the best meals we have experienced. Francesco's service was over the top great and his food recommendations worked... More

Had fresh seafood and pasta dishes for a family of 5. Had great time and excellent service. The only downside is the location way up on the Northside of the island...call for reservations as it was busy when got our table...

Despite having visited Grand Cayman many times since 1996, we had not visited Ristorante Pappagallo until this past year. Within this past year, my wife and I have dined at Ristorante Pappagallo seven times...with most visits being unimaginably even better than the previous! Food, service, personalities, panache, aura, décor, location, music, accoutrements and more have combined to make this facility... More

This is a unique restaurant with a wonderful Italian menu. The service was very attentive and the owner/manager stopped by serval times to ensure everything was good. I had the beet and cucumber salad followed by the special mahi fish and a great desert. All of us enjoyed our meals and this is now one of our favorites on Island.

Not to mention the wonderful wine list. Unique environment that is very family friendly yet a great spot for couple night out (I've done both here). It's a bit of a drive so I would recommend taking directions and/or a GPS on the way if you are not familiar with the area. Plan about a 15-20 min drive from 7... More
