On crossing the wooden bridge that leads to Ristorante Pappagallo, you will see swimming beneath there are sleek silvery tarpon, always on the lookout for scraps from the kitchen. You are thus, thrown into a world of the exotic, even before reaching the front door! Then, as you enter the spacious foyer, you're met at the front door by an African gray parrot, humorously called Humphrey Bogart. He is one of the oldest Pappagallo employees with over ten years experience in welcoming guests and posing for photos (especially with the little ones!). You will then immediately notice the inviting and well-stocked bar, decorated in an art deco style, where customers can take pre-dinner drinks or enjoy an after dinner drink in a cool and inviting atmosphere. On your right hand side, lies one of our two dining rooms, the Pappagallo Room. Inside, the impressive high ceiling will grab your attention, with its typical Mexican-style thatching. Wrought iron lights gently illuminate the air-conditioned room and huge glass-fronted bird cages feature all around the walls housing live parrots, macaws, cockatoos and African grays, all vying for your attention. The walls are also decorated with colorful pictures of parrots and a giant turtle shell which came from a 500 pound green sea turtle, which was raised in Cayman at West Bay's Turtle Farm. All this, and a great view of the waterfall cascading into the lagoon directly outside the room... how can you possibly forget that you are dining in a tropical paradise? On your left hand side of the foyer is the Flamingo Room, also with a fabulous thatched roof, this time in a traditional Cayman style. The entire roofing used 100,000 fronds and took over 6 months to construct - no mean feat. The Flamingo Room is left open to catch the cooling breeze, but is air-conditioned when the weather dictates. Here, you can enjoy a fabulous panoramic view over the lagoon. Large prints of flamingos decorate the walls and again, wrought iron lights lend their soft glow.Beyond this room lies a third eating area, the Garden Patio, a large screened- in porch where diners eat al fresco during the cooler winter months. This also has a magnificent lagoon view and Pappagallo usually caters for large parties & weddings here.

If you are looking for authentic Italian food you won't be disappointed. Their lobster ravioli was one of the best I've had anywhere and the desserts were amazing.

Had been to this restaurant before many years before and remember it was a little more flare than substance. Decided to give another try on this trip. Great choice. We started with some ceviche, fried calamari and burrata. The calamari was the best I have had in a long while. Next had a great Caesar salad and lobster & shrimp... More

The place is a great Italian place with a splash of island fare mix into it. Service is good. This is a great restaurant and one of my favorite places when it's raining out. Enjoy the food, view of the lagoon and the birds. Totally worth leaving Seven Mile Beach to eat here.

Every dish our family had was exactly what each of us wanted. We've never been disappointed with the food and wine selections at Pappagallo. Great place for family dinner or a romantic dinner. A favorite of our family!

This was by far our best meal of the entire trip. The food was incredible and the service was even better. Our waiter was Roberto, and we was wonderful. I have food allergies and the entire staff was more than accommodating. It took a while to drive here from the 7 mile beach, but it was well worth it. It... More

We had the squid ink seafood pasta and it was one of the best Italian dishes I've ever had. They made all the pasta themselves, and the fish was caught that day, except the shrimp, which had to be frozen. We sat by a huge lake surrounded by trees. They are in a bird sanctuary but the only birds we... More

Have been going to Grand Cayman for 20 years and finally ventured to Pappagallo. Wow! We have been missing out. That day my fiancé proposed to me while diving, so Pappagallo was our engagement dinner. They treated us so well! I would absolutely recommend Pappagallo. Everything way delicious and fresh!

The establishment sits right on a lagoon and bird sanctuary, and during the evening the lagoon has colored lights making it glow. My husband and I dined in the parrot's room and were seated directly in front of two beautiful macaws behind some glass. The lights gave a warm amber glow that matched perfectly with the thatched roof. Our food... More
