Description: On crossing the wooden bridge that leads to Ristorante Pappagallo, you will see swimming beneath there are sleek silvery tarpon, always on the lookout for scraps from the kitchen. You are thus, thrown into a world of the exotic, even before reaching the front door! Then, as you enter the spacious foyer, you're met at the front door by an African gray parrot, humorously called Humphrey Bogart. He is one of the oldest Pappagallo employees with over ten years experience in welcoming guests and posing for photos (especially with the little ones!). You will then immediately notice the inviting and well-stocked bar, decorated in an art deco style, where customers can take pre-dinner drinks or enjoy an after dinner drink in a cool and inviting atmosphere. On your right hand side, lies one of our two dining rooms, the Pappagallo Room. Inside, the impressive high ceiling will grab your attention, with its typical Mexican-style thatching. Wrought iron lights gently illuminate the air-conditioned room and huge glass-fronted bird cages feature all around the walls housing live parrots, macaws, cockatoos and African grays, all vying for your attention. The walls are also decorated with colorful pictures of parrots and a giant turtle shell which came from a 500 pound green sea turtle, which was raised in Cayman at West Bay's Turtle Farm. All this, and a great view of the waterfall cascading into the lagoon directly outside the room... how can you possibly forget that you are dining in a tropical paradise? On your left hand side of the foyer is the Flamingo Room, also with a fabulous thatched roof, this time in a traditional Cayman style. The entire roofing used 100,000 fronds and took over 6 months to construct - no mean feat. The Flamingo Room is left open to catch the cooling breeze, but is air-conditioned when the weather dictates. Here, you can enjoy a fabulous panoramic view over the lagoon. Large prints of flamingos decorate the walls and again, wrought iron lights lend their soft glow.Beyond this room lies a third eating area, the Garden Patio, a large screened- in porch where diners eat al fresco during the cooler winter months. This also has a magnificent lagoon view and Pappagallo usually caters for large parties & weddings here.

We just got home from Grand Cayman and we went here our first night. It was AMAZING! The food tastes like you have gone to Italy! My husband couldn't decide what to get for dinner so they made him a special plate and gave him both entrées. The customer service was superior. Not to mention this was one of the... More

It was my husband's birthday and we asked some friends that were traveling with us for a good recommendation for a great meal. Ristorante Pappagallo was spot on! There were 4 of us and we were warmly greeted by the wait staff as well as the tropical birds. We started with Prosecco and appetizers including lion fish ceviche that was... More

I have to hit Pappagallo's as a regular stop as its a fantastic atmosphere with the huge lagoon and the birds in the front room. Its an open island wrap around dining room that never dissapoints.

We were happy we decided to visit Pappagallo for dinner. We were a Party of 7 and it was agreed that this place was a good choice. The decor was lovely and the owner very welcoming. The service was excellent. I had the Veal Picata and it was very tasty with a lemon caper sauce. They served a brushetta as... More

Ristorante Pappagallo has all the ingredients needed for a memorable dining experience: quiet secluded setting, excellent service, and an outstanding menu. It also has one unusual feature, derived from its name: "pappagallo" - which translates to "parrot" in english - and they have several beautiful parrots in enclosures around the outside of the restaurant, but visible from inside through windows.... In the last two months I've attended three events here being wedding receptions and retirement parties. Though far and out of the way, the restaurant is beautifully placed onto a canal and provides a fun and easy-going atmosphere. Not a huge fan of the food, but the menu gives a good variety in options.

No better place on the island for both food and drink. The service was quick and very attentive. And, as everyone knows who has visited The Caymans, the ambiance is the best!

Service is always great and the food is even better. Best risotto on the island. The wine list is great because there are so many unusual gems (mostly from Europe) at a fair price. The atmosphere can be a bit boisterous, so if you're looking for a quiet dinner perhaps an early reservation would suit you. Even though the location... More

Totally loved this place - everything from the cocktails to the desert. When we arrived, I asked for a Mojito with very little sugar. The bartender came out to speak with me to understand what I wanted. He made the drink perfect. My husband had fresh made lobster ravioli. He said it was great. I had the fresh fish special... More
