Had a lovely meal at the smugglers haunt beefeater. The menu was full of great choice we had a job to decide what to have. Starters that we had included potato skins, prawn cocktail and sharing paprika chicken nachos and were enjoyed by all. Mains were brilliant, steaks perfectly cooked and tender. If you dont fancy a steak chicken and... More

Visited this evening having not been for a while and a noticeable difference this evening ! Seemed to be a big staff change - and no atmosphere !! Food ok but nothing special , our waitress (Sophie) was however brilliant and saved the day !!! What's happened ? Another management change ?? Or just a bad night ?? I hope... More

Not been to a Beefeater for years but thought we'd go there for a Birthday meal. Sat outside which meant we had to order at the bar rather than waitress at the table. Starters came fairly promptly and were OK tho' the potato skins had wrong topping so were taken away and didn't reappear until same time as main courses.... More

Having not eaten here before, but having passed it many times I thought I would give it a try, pretty pleased I did. Table for 2 on a Friday night at peak time was no issue. Promptly seated by a very smiley and helpful staff member (looked like the manager) and then served by an equally polite and enthusiastic waitress.... More

We visited after booking a table on line and were told on arrival we didn;t have a booking. The restaurant was busy (lots of noisy children rolling around on the floor) and we were asked to wait in the bar area until our table was ready. We only had to wait about 10 minutes before being shown to our table... More

I'm going to start by telling you the manager was visibly gutted when I explained all this to him and did partially recompense. Lunch for 3 of us, just after midday, restaurant not busy. Ordered a starter and main from the child's menu, chicken and bacon salad and sausage/mash. Was told to help myself to cutlery. This was in a... More

Good food, shame about the slow service. I'm sorry but if you've got a table with a young child that child's food should always be brought out first!
