We have often eaten at The Angel due to fairly nice pub grub and very friendly service, but the quality of the cooking has gone downhill. I often go for the steak and ale pie which used to come with chunky carrots, creamy mash and lovely red braised cabbage. However, the price has gone up, the portion has shrunk to... More

I recently dined here on a Saturday evening with 3 friends. The restaurant was busy & there was a nice ambience. The staff were friendly & attentive. I ordered fish & chips & the portion of fish was huge! The whole meal was delicious & great value for money.

My husband and I took my mother here for dinner on Mothers Day. Our drinks were served within 10 mins, and then our starters 20 mins later. We then had to wait 50 minutes for our main course, being ignored by staff, who appeared to forget that we were there, as paying customers. Our food eventually arrived. 2 meals of... More

I had heard that the food was goood at the Angel however though one meal was in fact good the other , gammon was almost inedible, it had clearly been cooked in old fat withreminants of burt food in it and was greasy. Not an expirienceI would wish to repeat!

After having a hectic day in London my husband decided that on our way home we would stop for a late sunday lunch, I was quite wary of this , thinking at almost 5pm the lunch would not be good but that was better than the alternative me having to cook. So we popped into The Angel at Ferndown .... More

We are very regular users of this pub/restaurant. There's always a friendly welcome. Not cheap but not too expensive either. In good weather a nice garden to sit in. Large car park

Somewhat surprised to read previous reviews as our experience on a Friday evening as a party of five was exceptional. Arrived without a booking, having discovered the place by chance while touring the New Forest area. Were shown to a table immediately, despite the restaurant being full and offered drinks and handed menus. The food was well presented, hot and... More

Met up with girlfriends for lunch but have eaten here on several occasions. Food always good, you can book tables and when the weather is with you there are plenty of outside seats with a small play area for children. There is a very large car park.

We invited my Brother and his partner to join us for a meal here early evening one Saturday - big mistake! One barman, one or two waitresses, ours was rather rude. We all ordered at the same time, same table number. They didn't have what i wanted. My Brother had long finished his meal before we were given ours! No... More

Took my wife for an Valentine evening meal. The choice of menu is very good, the food is well cooked and presented, service was excellent and the price was very good for the quality. A lovely evening out. Seating is available outside in the summer. The only thing that spoilt the evening was the weather windy, wet, cold and sever... More
