No Guest Ale

Visited today for a drink and asked what the guest ale was. I was told that the guest ale was Fursty Ferret, which is actually brewed by Hall and Woodhouse, who own the pub. Given that the definition of a guest ale is "a beer brewed by another brewery" Fursty Ferret is not a guest ale. I am... read more

Had a nice lunch here a few months ago, decided to go for dinner, walked in early evening, dirty plates on the tables which hadn't been cleared away... Ordered a meal, the steak wasn't that great, asked for medium rare and it was medium, burger was dry and over cooked. Have paid for cheaper meals with much nicer food, won't be back...

Nice atmosphere, really friendly staff and good food. A very welcoming feel to the place. They had run out of my favourite brand of spirit but promised to get some more in! Went out of their way to accommodate.

Grandchildren enjoyed their food and so did 3 of the adults. Unfortunately the chicken escalope was over cooked and very dry, so we took home for the dogs. Staff very friendly, service efficient and nice surroundings.

I expected this to be another run of the mill pub from one of the numerous chains that have overtaken our towns and villages. However the pub had a nice charm to it and was clean and tidy . We sat outside and while it adjoins a road, they have made the most of the large grounds with a play... More

This was an unexpected visit as we had planned on eating elsewhere but the original destination was busy so the angel being the next nearest became our eating place for the evening. We were pleasantly surprised the food was excellent service good and overall a very enjoyable evening will certainly go back again hopefully sooner rather than later

We had dinner at the Angel Inn. We do like the food at this group. I had the burger which was great and tasty as usual. My hubby had the Tanglefoot pie which are always a good meal. I have to say we adore the decor and surroundings, it is our taste. However, my hubby had the Eton Mess. It... More
