Great chowder and mussels in Havelock.

Great chowder and the mussels my friend had went down well also. Matched with a local Pinot Gris, what more could you want for a happy lunch. A bit of the road, through the boat trailer car park, next to the boat ramp.

Awesome find - not easy to get to - just follow the signs to the cafe. Great daily menu with good local wines. I had the catch of the day panfried on top of long grain rice and a salad of spinach, feta, olives and generous sundried tomatoes. We shared a bowl of a kilo of fresh mussels (speciality) in white... After realising the Mussel Pot was closed we looked to Trip Advisor for a second choice. The Slip Inn was it so we went in for lunch. The prices seemed on the higher side for a small town (aimed at tourists?), but the food was good. Unfortunately the whole experience was marred by very average customer service. The staff seemed... With Mussel Boys closed over winter we made a beeline to the Slip Inn for a much expectant feed of the local delicacy, the mussel. There was a good bunch of people in attendance, families, couples and the odd single as well, and all seemed to be catered for. The place was warm and toasty, in every corner, even though... More

Yes 1 seriously undercooked muffin went back to embarrassed waitress then returned with a over microwaved dreadful tasting replacement. I would recommend smaller muffins with less berries but then again a thousand googled muffin recipes I'm sure would point the kitchen in the right direction. Sure wouldn't be tempted going back in a hurry unless they got the simple things... More

We came here to go all out and have a romantic, quality dinner. I had a beetroot feta tart, which was rather expeny and it was canned beetroot. I then ordered the fish, which was dry, overcooked and overpowered by packet herb. The waitress was nice but the food was terrible.

A great place to enjoy a sunny afternoon with a nice lunch and good beer. I had been craving mussels from here the moment we landed at Nelson. Had to wait a couple of days however, but managed to stop here on our way back to Nelson from Blenheim. We sat on the balcony outside overlooking the ramp and marina.... More

Popped in by chance on the way back from Nelson to Blenheim. Havelock Marina is a great stopping off point for lunch and to appreciate the gorgeous views. Staff were excellent without being over fussy. Chowder was to one of the best as were the Calamari and Prawns. You are not pressured to leave and many people were popping in... More

Went for lunch as a treat. Had the fish and chips. Fish was overpowering and almost threw up. Spat it back onto the plate. Just made the loo when we arrived home. I actually paid for it. Never again!
