We enjoyed the food however although we were only one of three tables, getting some service from the waitress was slow which was disappointing.

Looked forward to a lovely lunch. Arrived at the cafe and it was empty so thought service would be great. Waited 25 minutes for a simple meal and there was no apology. Very disappointed.

Recently dined at the Slip Inn with a fairly large group of people (who drank a fair bit!) Had a sit down entrée of vegetable soup or mussel chowder, followed by buffet mains and dessert.. And WOW! The best meal I've had in a very long time. We hardly noticed the staff popping in and out with so much food... More

A group of us went to the Slip Inn for a late breakfast/early lunch and sat outside. The staff were amazing, fast friendly and they knew the menu! We had the Seafood Platter to share... divine! So many mussels, prawns and very tender calamari this would have to be one of the most tasty sharing plates we've had. 2 of... More

A group of us went there for dinner and breakfast. My dinner was fantastic, had very tender Lamb cutlets, overall very pleased. Had a standard breakfast of bacon and poached eggs no complaints there, but all of us who had coffee, was cold to luke warm only complaint

... this is the place to eat. Relaxed and friendly dining experience. Whilst touring the South Island, we stopped overnight in Havelock as our family had heard good reviews about this place. There were seven of us and we had a great evening. The seafood platter served all the adults as a starter and was terrific value for money. Good... More

We were 6 of us (4 adults & 2 small children), visited for lunch. We didn't know about this place prior to our visit but went on recommendation by a guy working at Tourist Info in the town. He told us it's the best place to eat in town & he was right! The place was fairly busy but we... More

We ate here after venturing to the cafe on a car tour. There were a large group of us, but despite this the meals were served quickly. My meal arrived the last at the table, well after everyone else had received theirs which made me feel a little uncomfortable and wondered if I had been forgotten. The meals are slightly... More
