Mussel your way in for a GREAT meal!

Pun intended! I stopped in here with a "mussel monkey" on my back, as I'd been craving the reknowned local delicacy for weeks. I ordered "The Mussel Kilo", a full kg of mussels in the classic white wine, butter and garlic sauce, and let me tell you -- a beautiful, sunny afternoon on the deck... read more

A precious memory of a wonderful trip to NZ. We happened upon this roadside restaurant on a long car drive and were delighted with the chowder with green-lipped mussels - wow, so fresh with delightful fresh baguette and NZ real butter - and of course a glass of local wine just right!!! Outstanding seems too mild a word for this... More

On our way to Stephens Bay at Easter we popped in for lunch. We shared a pizza and had a coffee each. both were superb. I said to my husband it was one of the best pizzas I have had, thin base and great toppings, we had one with pesto, feta cheese and meat.

Amazing location - right over the harbour. We just had a coffee in muffin which was lovely. Would definitely come back when travelling thru Havelock

Don't just drive through Havelock. Slip in to the Slip Inn Cafe where you will be greeted warmly and fed royally in a stunning acquatic environment. Turn off the highway and discover this oasis in the marina. They cater for a wide variety of dietary preferences served with charm, warmth and the best of Marlborough wines.

So many seafood choices alongside pizza meant that we visited the Slip Inn twice during our stay in Havelock. The location is great and even though we ate inside the marina views are excellent. The staff were welcoming and gave sound advice about the generous portion sizes. Nice range of drinks including guest beers meant both wine lovers and beer... More

We decided to try this place after a friend of my wife recommended it to her. It was a little hard to find at first we soon located down on the water front. It was a nice morning so we took an outside table on a sheltered deck which extended to the waters edge and looked out over the Marina.... More

We travel through Havelock frequently but have always stopped in the main street for morning tea. We were told about the Slip Inn so decided to try it. We were not disappointed. A modern restaurant looking out over the Marina with inside and outside dining options. We had a lovely coffee with a generous salad sandwich for morning tea and... More

Called in for a late lunch Easter Friday. Lovely staff, very helpful friendly and genuine. Sat outside and watched the various boats leaving before the tide went too far out. Great range of menu options all reasonably priced and very good portions. I prefer more heat in a Thai beef salad but it was very tasty. My husband is a... More
