We stopped overnight at a local Motel and chose to eat here overlooking the Marina; Modern clean restaurant with a good selection of food available for lunch or dinner, friendly efficient staff, well presented food with good portion size at a reasonable price, Fish looked and tasted good as did the chicken; if I'm passing I will definitely return;

Superb setting overlooking the Havelock Marina. Indoor and outdoor seating. Clean and modern. Ideal place to stop off and have a cuppa enroute or while waiting to go on the Mail Boat cruise.

Great service, excellent choices in the menu, and excellent wine list. We only had one waitress on though, and she worked very hard to serve us all .... they could have splashed out and put on another one to help her, but it was all good. A night to remember.

Called in here while on a road trip as the restaurant had been recommended to us and we were not disappointed. The building is modern and well-designed with excellent views of the water. The food was of a very high quality and staff efficient and friendly. If you go there do try the green-lipped mussel chowder - lip-smackingly good!!

Lovely dinner out after a tiring drive. Very helpful staff and superb quality pizza! Would happily go again...

My wife and I stayed five nights at Channel Lights, about a 4 minute walk from Slip Inn. In those five nights, we ate dinner at Slip Inn three or four nights, lunch twice, and breakfast twice. As the only restaurant on the wharf at Havelock the restaurant is already a winner. We visited to collect our pre ordered lunches for the Pelorus Mail Boat trip & decided to stay for breakfast. We stopped off at Havelock for breakfast after leaving Tuhananui for the Picton Ferry. It was the most delightful little town, the Mussel Capitol of the World according to the signs.
