We fell in love with Southern Zone of Costa Rica as is the most bio-diverse region, with the mountains meeting the sea. Not many places in the world can boast this claim! The locals, the wildlife, the beauty of Ballena Marine Park and the jungle make Uvita a very unique region of Costa Rica. The Southern Zone offers what we first saw in 1993 on our first trip to Costa Rica - protected beaches and no resort hotels!
