The course was lost for over 70 years before Master Greenkeeper Gordon Irvine accidentally stumbled across it on a fishing trip. It was discovered that this course dated back to 1891 and it was 'old' Tom Morris who designed it. In 2008 the course was re-opened in almost exactly the same set up as it was 117 years ago. At 6,259 yards the course can often be taken for granted, this should be done at your own risk as the last 12 holes has some of the best links golf holes around. If you get a chance, come along and play the course on a Sunday afternoon where you will be invited to play in the weekly competition between the local members. It will be a round and golfing experience never to be forgotten. less
