Building 7 ground floor - Weather was on the cool side - ocean was lovely - pool was clean - service was good - buffets a little hit and miss - but overall, always something to eat - a la cartes were great! Even had the lobster dinner twice! (at 10 pesos) totally worth it! Loved the little market right next door - and exploring other areas of the four hotel complex - and caught some good live music a couple of nights - just what the doctor ordered... money exchange at the front desk or off to the side - internet access sketchy at best - not really reliable, very slow, and limited to a little room in the lobb...   "This was my second stay at the Brisas. In May 2012 I stayed in the hotel part. This May, I stayed in a villa. I plan to go next year. This really is a little gem of a hotel. It was interesting to see people this year that I had spoken to last year! One group were on their 34th stay! VILLAS..." The villas are on 3 floors and there are no lifts – lifts a plenty in the hotel. So if you have difficulty climbing stairs, make sure you request the ground floor if you’re in a villa. To begin with, I really resented being so far from the main hotel after being right in the midst of everything the previous year. It seemed such a trek through the grounds to get to the towel hut / entertainment at night etc. However, after a couple of days, I started enjoying the walk through the pretty, immaculately maintained grounds and once I’d got my bearings, I found an assortment of routes to take and saw more of the hotel than people just staying in the hotel probably did.   "So this was my first time to Cuba, my other half had been before and paid nearly double what we had so I was a little bit worried & as per usual the reviews on here made me even more nervous. But once we arrived all was forgotten! Flight Although we didn't book through then, our flight was wit..."h Thomas Cook. The check in was unorganised and the flight attendants rude. But we weren't going to let this ruin our holiday. The flight is long & it takes a long time for the snack trolley to get round, save money and pack plenty on snacks (this will benefit you at the hotel too!) The Cuban airport was tiny and we waited over an hour for our bags to arrive (even though we were the only flight) but this is what to expect in Cuba, you'll hear plenty of jokes about 'Cuban time' and believe me they are true! Don't stress about it though, you're there to relax! Tip: book your seats before you go! I know it's a pain to pay extra to sit together but there was so much hassle on the flight back w... " More >
