The next stop was AmaZOOnica, an animal rehabilitation center. Here, nearly hidden in the thick trees, we were guided past enclosures where animals that had been rescued from injury or human neglect were being helped to recover with the hope of releasing them back to the wild. Still better than average but zero potential for socialising with other travellers, the place is nice but has no atmosphere. If you're looking for something to do for the day, try catching the free cable car to Los Yutzos to see some caged and uncaged animals for $2...I don't honestly know what the hell this place is other than something to do for the day in Tena, but pretty sure I shared lunch with a badger which was mucho buenos. I'd also recommend dinner at Marquis Grill as I doubt there's a better dining option in town for lovers of juicy steak. " More >
