We stayed(between 15th to 18th March 2013) in Room#2 comprising of a hall, a bedroom, dressing room and a 'humongous' bath/toilet! Hot water off their Solar heaters runs 2..."4 x 7(depending upon the sunshine as also the occupancy, of course!) which is good for a place that's generally cold most part of the year! Free Wi-Fi is/was 'active' albeit only in the restaurant/dining area(since this was the lean season!). The ol' Chef sure can churn out some real yummy, finger licking dishes ordered al-a-carte & given ample time! Albeit not a hotel to view the snow-caps or the sun-rises off the balcony this hotel overlooking the western hills and valleys had us watch golden sun-sets on all three days of our stay! The resort is a small set of cottages nestled in the hills in Dunagiri, which is about two hours away from any town of note (Ranikhet). Their idea of a table cloth is pressed leaves and flowers from the garden around, neatly arranged in patterns under a plastic sheet. And their idea of entertainment is the exquisite view of the hills, lush greenery and nature all around you. The whole resort, from the location to the building to the furniture, is extremely organic, as if it were just part of the surroundings, not a man-made structure erected within a jungle. The staff are extremely friendly and make you feel like you're in their home. The menu is home-cooked vegetarian food, that's simple but wholesome.   "We went there for 3 nights in the month of March. When had booked a suite but we ended up taking a Luxury room as the room quality was the same and it had the garden outside. We were not so convinced about the place when we entered but the kind of personalized service they had provided us...its comm..."endable. The view is not that great from the resort but it itself is in such a location that you'll never get bored there. You can sit outside in the garden...can do bonfire, can play Badminton or TT...can go for nature walks etc. We were just impressed by the service/hospitality. If you are going there...its a wonderful place to stay away from all the hustle and bustle of the city.... The only place to find peace! " More >
