  "on our last visit 3 years ago we stayed at the alien mothership that is the 'grand diamond casino hotel' and swore should we return to poipet to try to stay somewhere else. so we tried ly heng chhay and were actually very pleased with our two nights. the staff were lovely, very helpful and attentiv..."e and friendly in that quiet cambodian way (all of which was missing from our casino experience) and the room was clean and with good aircon. we were cooked some very good khmer evening meals and for breakfast the 'destiny' cafe next door was very good. it has to be said that the toilet/shower may put off some (the pipe from the toilet had an open inspection point!) but although the thought of this was a bit off-putting, it seemed to not be actually noticable in any other way. poipet feels like its at last 'on the up' and should you want to stay there, this is the place to go, properly cambodian and qietly charming given its situation. i would be very happy to go back.   "I turned up at this hotel late at night without a booking and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is new and the room was large and clean with AC, hot water and a fridge. No breakfast but safe, quiet and excellent value."
