The edge of the city of Mahon is about a 30 minute walk away, followed by another 15 minute stroll along the waterfront to the centre of town.   "We have just returned from a week’s stay at the Agamenon and found it to be a delightful small hotel in a perfect location. The staff were always very friendly and helpful even though at times they were obviously under pressure, particularly in the restaurant. The bathroom had a hairdryer and very efficient over the bath shower and everything was spotlessly clean. The bar area and dining room had stunning views over the harbour. The buffet meals were always very good with lots of variety and although it was sometimes busy at peak times, we never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table. We did, however, occasionally have to wait for someone to serve at the bar as there really did seem to be a shortage of staff.   "Fantastic location overlooking the entrance to the harbour, pool area excellent decking and comfortable loungers. Rooms modern bathroom spacious, balcony at front gets Sun during day rear rooms the sunset which we preferred. Adults only makes it very relaxing however we were youngest at 48 can seem ..."a little quiet for some but we found that's what we want. Breakfast excellent quality better than most 5 stars I have stayed in. Easy walk into town plenty of local proper tapas bars, overall an excellent hotel great value, don't be put off if you find a cheap break here, and think it can't be that good it is very good and you won't be disappointed.
