The road up to the house is a little windy but not scary at all. Candy has beautiful gardens there, lots of lavender. When we arrived Candy and Tony were there to greet us in and show us around the house. They were so thoughtful to get a high chair, baby safety gate and managed to get a cot for our then 18 month old. They also had this terrific wine & cheese waiting for us, and not just that but they also had some essential things for us in the fridge so it could hold us till we went shopping. We had dinner and breakfast there, and were very happy with the food. One reviewer complained about the variety of toppings for bread in the morning, but I thought it was better than many other hotels in this range. Instead of little packets of jelly, they had homemade preserves! Also, the river is beautiful, and one of the oldest suspension bridges in the world leads you over to another charming town on the other side.
