Manizales is a 15 minute ride with a taxi or you can hop on the 'chivas'. From Manizales you have good connections for onward travelling.   "We are the kind of travelers who would prefer to stay in the outskirts of a city rather in the main hub for the peace, quiet and ability to meet similar minded travelers; when we arrived at the Secret Garden, we knew that we'd found a great spot. The owners Diego and Kate couldn't have been more gra..."cious and welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed spending our time with them over delicious dinners (and some of the beat breakfast on our trip!). They were extremely helpful in sharing information about the area(and elsewhere in Colombia and New Zealand) and helped us to organize a tour of their friends coffee farm (highly recommended). One day we simply relaxed and Diego took the time to walk us around the area and to a road with beautiful flowers. After dinner we got a chance to sample his selection of Colombian music and walked us through the history of the conflict here.
