Loved being able to step out of the hotel and go for a walk on the amazing beach, many interesting museums etc, near to these Normandy landing beaches too, Really really handy for the ferry, in fact we could actually see it from our room! The hotel is very peaceful even though it is so close to the ferry port, we could not hear any noise from the road outside which doesn't seem to carry much traffic.   "Travelling by ferry to or from Ouistreham? Look no further for an overnight / weekend / mini-break hotel. We travelled as foot passengers, arriving mid-evening. Step out of the terminal and the hotel is less than 100m to your right, the green Ibis logo glowing in the dusk. We've been fans of ..."Ibis for years, particularly for off-season breaks, but this was the first experience of the Ibis Styles sub-brand. Same but different, would be the verdict. Instead of the familiar red logo, a bright green predominates. But who cares. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and big enough enough for a couple staying one or two nights. The fact that they are called "cabines" will tell you they aren't enormous – and I have to agree with my yachtmaster friend that they are a bit on the tight side if you have to find room for lifejacket, foul weather gear, chart case and navigator bag. Staff are friendly and efficient with a working knowledge of English if your French is rusty.... " More >
