  "Had a Saturday (11 May) overnight stay at the Acorn Inn. What a charming place! Would highly recommend you take a look at this Inn. Everything about it was superb. All the staff were so courteous and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Food was fantastic and a great choice of excellen..."t wines. Dinner, bed and breakfast rate was unbeatable for the quality of everything. We will definately be returning. One thing that puts us off places are uncomfortable beds but we were pleasanly surprised as to a great nights sleep and very comfortable beds. The rooms were of a very high standard. We stayed in "Tess" which has a four poster bed, not a large room but everything you need and a lovely bay window. We played skittle, darts and of course walked to the local Manor House. On the way home we visited Sherborne Castle which was really interesting and not too far away. Thank you Alex for you warm welcome and hospitality. " More >

  "Copy of email sent the Acorn,Evershot Good afternoon Alex & Jack Thanks very much for a tremendous two days, the only problem it goes too quick, the food was outstanding, the scallops the best I’ve ever had , thanks very much to Natalie & Richard, what a team! Always happy & friendly, nothing ..."is ever a problem for them, and also the new members of staff who we hadn’t meet before, a great addition to the team, thanks for putting on the ‘Doom bar’ it was great, saying that all three bitters were great! As was the Gin & other refreshments we sampled , Lets hope we can get down again this year, it’s a lovely part of the Country, unspoilt & away from the rat race, Thanks Alex for the best ploughman’s lunch that you prepared for us on Saturday, I know you were rushed off your feet, but you still found time, the beef was cooked to perfection.   "A modern hotel, which is a real delight and the best modern hotel I have found in the area. Although a little isolated and about 8 miles from Dorchester it is an excellent place to stay. The staff are very friendly, the place is generally spacious including the bedrooms. All the usual facilities ..."are provided along with a vast and comfortable super kingsize bed. The main road is just to the front, but the hotel is set back and there is virtually no traffic noise. The view from the front rooms is over the rolling countryside and if you’re lucky there could be a nice sunset. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The wifi connection is not bad. The restaurant food is good and the semi-self serve breakfast is very nice with real coffee. A lot of thought has gone into this place with some nice touches and the results are very good. This is my fourth time here, and I don’t go back to somewhere that I have issues with. Excellent! " More >
