  "We are a family mostly of visitors from out of state and came to south Dakota for a graduation about 3 hours from rapid city. The family decided we would come to rapid for a couple of days to spend some quality time together and had decided long before that we would be staying at the holiday inn. Wh..."en we arrived, it was more expensive than we originally wanted to pay, and began searching onYelp for a different location. We called battle creek and were gien an incredibly great rate...we were a little skeptical just because it didn't have many amenities on paper. Boy, were we wrong...the minute we walked into the office, we were greeted by Tammy and she took incredibly great care of us from beginnings to end....the only issue was the internet, which we knew she was frantically working on, and there was no one to blame on that...we are understanding and honestly we weren't in need of it that much....since we were here to enjoy each others company...breakfasts were amazing....all home cook...   "Never actually stayed here, which I know is weird, but feel compelled to write my first review ever. My family travels much per mine and wife’s work. Based on these reviews, I picked this motel. Spoke with Tammy not once, but twice to book, then re-book when plans for a three-week western swing kept..." changing. Finally the trip, to include Grand Canyon, Vegas, Mesa Verde, Black Hills and Wisconsin Dells, got unceremoniously cancelled when my travel orders changed (thank you uncle Sam). I thus spoke to Tammy a third time. In all three calls, Tammy was gracious, informative, warm and inviting. Her knowledge of the area and willingness to share info is unheard of in today’s world of chains. I use Trip Advisor for every choice I make (15 hotels a year, give or take) and I’m writing for the first time to say if you don’t believe the below reviews, contact the Battle Creek and feel the warmth. There’s something to be said for a hotel that doesn’t let the Internet book its rooms. " More >
