The majority of the hotel is a large, modern extension to the original manor house so it wasn't exactly what I was expecting but it's all been done very well in sympathetic, period style. The decor is taste..."ful and the room was very comfortable and well appointed, with a window overlooking the barges on the canal. The motorway is quite close (very convenient for us) but we couldn't hear it. The hotel is obviously very popular with locals as a place to dine and get married and there was a wedding on when we stayed so it was very busy but the noise was kept to a minimum.
