We really did feel like part of the family and didnt want to leave!! We stayed in the newly renovated open fire place suite with an ajoining room which was very large a..."nd spacious and beautifully appointed. I really cannot fault any aspect of our stay. The only thing that I felt was missing was a spa/hot tub (This is perhaps only because we are used to American resorts but there really is no better way to unwind after hard day skiing!). The breakfast was incredible and the afternoon tea was such a treat. Sampling different wines at the bar each day after a long day on the slopes was particularly enjoyable. I cannot recommend Himmlhof enough. I will definitely be returning. " More >

  "We stayed at Acksteiner for 3 nights prior to joining our tour group in Innsbruck. The location is perfect for a stay in the village of St. Anton. Very close to the pedestrian friendly street and all the village shops, bars, and restaurants; basically across the street from the Galzig gondola and G..."ampen chair; just around the corner from the bus stops; and a short walk to the train station. Our room was very comfortable and cozy with nice finishings and linens. I have to say the highlight was the breakfast right outside our door each morning ... fruit, bread, cook to order eggs, cheeses, and on and on. We also very much appreciated our host, Hannes Acksteiner. He was very gracious and welcoming throughout our stay and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. We weren't bothered by the noise and our room was on the street side and we had the windows open at night. There were a couple late night partiers but nothing too extreme.   "Felt a bit like Faulty Towers when we initially arrived; checkin was hectic and we were then lead outside and down a slope into a garage where we had to leave our skis. Thankfully, it was all uphill form there. Turns out the ski room is accessable from the hotel, which is nice. It was just easier..." to walk round with our luggage than drag it through the hotel. So no issue here at all. The ski bus leaves from right outside the hotel. And you'll need to use it. Walking to the slope or anywhere in St Anton is pretty much out of the question. Thankfully, during ski hours the buses are free so you won't have any problems. And if you get the fast bus it is a short journey. Make sure your transfer company know which Tirolerhof you're staying at. There is only one in St Anton, but there is another in a close by valley about 50km away. On our return journey our taxi driver went to the wrong one (despite being given the correct postal code) Wi-fi is slow and expensive. Food was good. S... " More >
