The first day was nice then we had a couple of days of cloudy mornings and very wet afternoons/evenings. After this it was sunny and very hot. Make sure you take lots of mosq..."uito repellent! The island is quite big which means you get lots of choice for food (do go select all inclusive) and can enjoy a nice walk around, however I think this meant that it took away that paradise feeling a little. The buggies - we occasionally saw these but very rarely - we only got one once when we first arrived and the other when checking out! We were in a water villa with jacuzzi and can assure you there definitely was sun on the decking, all day until about 5pm. The room is comfortable and air conditioning was faultless.   "Have just spent two weeks in paradise....2nd - 16th May. The Maldives is a place we have always wanted to visit and it certainly lived up to our expectations. We booked through Blue Bay Travel using Kuoni and flew with Emirates. We also chose the sea plane as we were told it would be quicker than t..."he speedboat. It was a quick flight but unfortunately we had a 90 minute wait for it, which, when you've been flying for about 12 hours, was something we could have done without. However, once there, we were allocated our accomodation very quickly, (we chose a Deluxe Beach Villa), which was lovely. One of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The shower and toilet is open air, there was also a shower in the garden and a jacuzzi on the decking. Plenty of storage space, tv with plenty of English speaking channels, and a fridge stocked with lots of soft drinks and water. The good points are the beauty of the island, the snorkelling, the restaurants, the lovely people we met, the serenity of the island. Areas for improvement include the restaurant booki..."ng system where you have to queue at 8 am at reception or won't get a reservation; and staff were unable to be flexible when dealing with complaints. Customer service is such an important part of the holiday experience and can be so easily put right, so I hope kuramathi listen to feedback. It is a beautiful island and we had a fantastic week.
