And I'm glad she made the offer because both entree items were excellent (though I'd give a slight nod to the pork). Breakfast the next morning was a lavish spread, and each item (fresh baked breads and rolls, a wide variety of jams, cheeses, breakfast meats, very fresh eggs, etc.) was excellent.   "We stayed here for two nights on a recent trip around Europe. The hotel is very old with lots of lovely features. Our room was large and had everything you would require for a couple of nights stay. Not luxury, but well worth the price charged. The best part of our stay was the restaurant where ..."we ate both nights and enjoyed extremely good food & wine. The buffet breakfast also was one of the best we had on our trip. Also all the staff were lovely, spoke good English and looked after us very well. We stayed here as we wanted to enjoy some of the legendary Black Forest roads in our sports car and we were not disappointed. Although there is easy access to many other highlights of the area. Nicely located out of town in a quiet hillside setting. 20 minutes to downtown Freiburg (Christmas markets in Freiburg were our destination). Check in was quick and easy.
