If you don't want to head into Newport, there are all kinds of shopping plazas around the hotel if you need to pick up some groceries, get a coffee, or a bite. There is even a Chili's that shares the parking lot with the Holiday Inn. There seemed to be a nice size breakfast buffet. Would be nice if they offered fresh fruits, a healthier alternative to the pancakes, boxed cereals and breads. We could have just grabbed an apple or banana on the go. If you have time, bring your swimsuit. There is a nice little indoor pool as well as a gym. It's definitely a nice alternative to the costly Newport area hotels and B&B's if you are on a budget.
