  "I too was a little worried after reading the reviews but was quite happy with our room. My only complaint was that I needed a first floor room as my husband can't walk up the stairs and RCI contacted Barrier Island when making my reservation. I was told that I would get room 318 on the first floor...". My husband decided not to go which was a good thing as we were given room 605 units A and B on the 2nd floor. I didn't notify the staff because we were quite satisfied with the accomodations but it would have been a problem if he had been with us. It appeared that the bathrooms had been remodeled which I was happy about. Everything worked well and the deck was great. We had 1 1/2 baths in the A unit and 1 bath in the B unit, there were only 4 adults and 1 child so that worked out well. Everyone was very friendly and I would definitely stay there again. Having beem gaping to Sanderling for about 25 years, we have loved the resort, seen it decline, and most of all - seen immunities steadily diminish. While it is obvious it will never return..." to what it was in the heyday of the 80's, the cost and steadily declining services, make this property a question as to value. We paid $550.00 per night for a somewhat decrepit room with torn screens, few amanities and a mythical ocean view. We went following a recovery from a devastating injury, and wanted a wonderful celebration to health. In ite of being told we were getting an Ocean View, we were treated to what is called Ocean Side. Given the state of the room, we have to conclude that overall Sanderling is more of a tribute to corporate greed than the lovely getaway we have formerly known.   "It was my husband and I's first trip to a B&B. The house was lovely, it was quiet. The room was very clean. We arrived in the evening after check in. The rules were on our dresser with our receipt from the payment we made over the phone. It was a bit overpriced, we only stayed a night though. I thin..."k that the people were nice, I had breakfast while my husband slept in. They served silver dollar pancakes with a couple slices of kiwi and grapes, juice, and coffee. I was expecting something a little grander, but my husband and I ended up getting lunch shortly after leaving so it was okay. We had purchased our own drinks and snacks the night before. We met another couple staying there in the morning. Otherwise it was very quiet, we are night people so we went in and out as quietly as we could.
