  "We had a great couple of days at Posada Amazonas in April.  We opted for the two night package which, in our view, was the right amount of time.  We flew into Aguas Calientes on Star Peru (as an FYI, a much cheaper alternative to LAN and TACA) and someone was there to pick us up.  We then proceeded ..."to the Amazon Expeditions office to join up with the rest of our group.  If your bags are too big, they will ask you to leave behind what you don't need (see my warning at the end). We were divided into groups of about 6-8 people and each assigned a guide for the duration of our stay.  The lodge is about a half hour bus ride followed by a 40 minute boat ride.  Overall the transfer process was pretty efficient. The lodge itself was great.  It is in very nice shape and the staff does a great job at the upkeep.  The website does a pretty fair/accurate job of presenting the lodge and rooms via their pictures, though honestly I think that if anything, they undersell it a bit.  We found the...   "My friend and I were really excited to be able to visit this virgin rainforest area after coming from Canada. We were met by Victor, one of the guides at the airport and taken to a holding area in town. Since they had to wait for another flight and more guests, we had a chance to re-pack and only ..."take what we needed for our two night stay, and left the rest of luggage in their secure office in town. I wish that they had provided a kit list of what to bring but Victor did go over a few recommendations. He then took us into the market to show us around and provided some education on some of the food and products at locals sell in the market that come from the jungle. We had a chance to pick up a few supplies as well if needed. Bring lots of bug spray, long sleeve shirts and pants for the jungle treks, and good solid shoes.
