I still love it; it's still exceptional in its intimacy and location. I have been there several times since my tripadvisor review. Most disturbing, however, is that the swimming pool, which used to have fresh water (eau douce) and was thoroughly delightful, now is filled with salt water. I don't know what happened to precipitate that change but it renders the pool much less enjoyable. Another disturbing development is the construction within sight of the beach on which this hotel is located of a military installation with a very tall tower which pollutes the formerly pristine view along the beach.   "We spent four nights in the Awale Plage and had a really relaxing time. We stayed in a standard bungalow, which was big enough for us. The rooms were clean, although we weren’t able to recognize that somebody clean our rooms during our stay. We could recognize that the owner take care of the hotel a..."rea because the staff clean the garden at many times and we saw them redecorate some rooms. Our room was not redecorated, but anyway it was good. Only our bathroom was not nice. They really should change the wooden bathroom-door, because it was musty. We liked the hotel area very much, because the owner create a lovely place with a lot of nice corners you can relax – the swimming pool, the beach bar, the beautiful restaurant, the chess place and so on. So the hotel is a perfect place to relax, because Grand Popo and the Hotel would be never overcrowded, maybe. The beach area is also very nice and it’s fun to watch the fishermen.   "Amazing food overlooking the beach"
  "We spent a great afternoon at the restaurant here and ate wonderful food. A really original menu and good service. All the food was well cooked. The terrace overlooks a beautiful beach, which was deserted when we visited. We didn't stay but the rooms looked comfortable."
