"When I went to visit the Battleship New Jersey it was a great experience! I'm always amazed by ships and love having the experience of being on one and touring the inside. You get to see so much of the ship and find out so much information about it and its history. If you want to know all about it d..."efinitely take one of the headsets they offer, because that gives you all of your info. The people who work there are also very friendly. And just a tip, ladies don't wear high heels, they aren't allowed on the ship, because of the steep steps.

"This is America's most decorated Battleship. Exploring the battleship is experiencing history in a whole new way. Not only do you see exhibits of artifacts from the ship’s past, but you are put into the exhibit as you go through the tour route. Stretch out on the bunks where the sailors slept. From the moment you step across the ship’s brow you will understand that this is a museum where visitors take an active role. This is absolutely a MUST-SEE!!! Even if you are uncertain about how interested you might be in military history (which I am not), there is more to it than just military history. There are stories about people and society and culture. My only complaint is that the tour is expensiv...

This was quite a different visit than my first one, so much..." more of the ship was renovated and opened to tours! Expect to be there for at least a few hours to really explore the ship, its rich history and exhibits. The only disadvantage was that there were no guides available during our time there, so we could only do the general, self-guided tour, but it was easy enough to do on our own. My boyfriend took the audio version and really enjoyed it, but some of the stops were difficult to find unless you payed very close attention.
It was pretty amazing to see how long she was in service and the different battles she was in, and to hear about how the sailors lived aboard in such small areas, some of the artifacts left behind by those who served w...
