  "We had the most amazing stay at this motel. As others have said, the hotel is on two levels, one level above the road and the other right down at the lakefront. We chose an efficiency down at the lakefront and are we glad we did. Looking out the living room window, all you can see is "lake" as if you are on a boat. Right outside your door is a small man-made sandy beach. We watched a sailboat race and the antics of ducks from the lounge chairs on the beach. It should be noted that if you're used to staying only at the chain motels, this is NOT a Hampton Inn. It actually was a really nice change. The rooms are small and rustic, but very clean and the shower was great. It has a real New England style about it and we loved staying here. The outside pool area was very nice and much bigger than most hotel pool areas. The room was also spacious, clean and nicey appointed.   "It's really the people here, not the property that delivers consistency. The staff are always accommodating and helpful. The rooms do offer a clean, safe place to rest with the normal amenities. We chose this hotel because I like the Fireside (from my many trips to Maine). We went to a concert..." and it was a very short 10 min walk to the doors of the venue. Patricks Pub is also right across the street for a meal. They also made an extra effort to provide a room (above and beyond) since we booked very late and this hotel was essentially full.
