A special treat was sharing the large heated (by a pan of coals underneath) dinner table with fellow travelers and the owners. We enjoyed the warmth (it was late season /early winter) of the table along with conversation and great food. They ran laundry for us despite our late arrival and provided a large insulated jug of hot lemon ginger to help ease a bad cold for my wife.   "I have stayed at Tilicho lodge on numerous occasions. As lodges go it is pretty dammed good! The food is good, and hygiene does not appear to be an issue. It can get a bit noisy at night. Trekking groups will have their final meal here and needless to say the parties can go on long into the night...". If possible get one of the rooms on level one with its own shower. One of the best (hottest) showers that I ever had in Nepal was in this lodge on the upper level. There is a good variety of booze to be had and a good selection of trekking supplies. A prompt efficient laundry service is offered. The upper level of the lodge offers bloody good views of the airport and arriving/departing planes. A 5 min walk to the airport. In short not a bad place to spend your last day in Jomson. " More >
