Like Brookville, there is only one thing on the menu...fried chicken and it was worth the drive to Holton. The chicken appeared to be deep-fat fried. It was crispy, flavorful, and juicy. The potatoes were real and the gravy had a wonderful flavor that I'm still trying to place. The creamed corn was so-so but I'm not a creamed corn person. Rounding the entree were very good dinner rolls with honey butter. Chocolate cake was served for dessert and coffee is extra. The dining room is tastefully decorated and can seat quite a few people.   "This is a comfortable and clean hotel. I have stayed here multiple times over the past four years and purposefully plan my route to be here for the night. Since I usually travel with one or two cats, and require a refrigerator to keep medicine, not many hotels fit me. This one does! My cats are hap..."py. I trust my room will always be ready and in great shape. My reservations and preferences are always in order. The owners and employees are friendly, helpful - just nice people. And the price!   "I noticed this hotel several years ago while working in the area and decided then and there, if the opportunity came up, that is where I'd rather stay than the Super 8. I've been travelling a lot this year and am already burnt out on the usual places, I wanted someplace with character. This hotel ..."is has a warmth that eminates not only from the decor, but from the hotel personnel. Lori was wonderful and made me feel so welcome. I would love to go back with my husband and explore more of the history of the area. Any room not spoken for is available for guests to peep in.
