The suites have refrigerators, which we need for medical reasons. Plain rooms apparently do not. The breakfast buffet is not friendly for people with special diets--diabetic, celiac--too much starch/wheat/sugar, not enough fruit. We had some trouble with the TV during a storm one night. The dryer in laundry room was out of order--lint trap missing and on order--during our stay. Staff did indicate there was a coin-op laundry nearby; not a great option. Generally we enjoyed our stay and will seek out other Microtel locations in future. " More >

  "Father's Day Weekend with Family !"
  "This was a serene setting for a wonderful Father's Day weekend with my wife, mom and our 3 and 6 year old children. Our kids loved the big yard, gathering eggs and visiting the chicken yard and seeing the goats. The house is charming, and we felt like we were a thousand miles away from the big city...." It was relaxing to sit on the porch chairs and just listen to the birds and feel the breeze. The outdoor "tree house" shower was unique and fun. The Michigan City beaches were also clean and nice and less than 5 miles away. There were fresh cookies in the afternoon and evening, and the breakfasts we had were among the best I have ever had in my life. Claudia was an attentive and helpful hostess and we felt very welcome and cared for during our stay. She even built a fire so we could make smores on our last evening. We had a great time ! " More >

  "Stayed here one night for business. Lots of restaurants nearby, and Walmart right across the street for any essentials you forgot to pack. Pool & hot tub looked clean, but I didn't take the time to use them. In room wifi was great. large room with decent sized TV, full size sofa, refrigerator, d..."esk and king bed. Front desk staff was very attentive and friendly, and even called up to my room about 45 minutes after arrival to make sure the room met my expectations and see if there was anything I needed. My only complaint was that the lighting in the room was mismatched compact fluorescent lamps (some were daylight color-very unattractive, and some were warm white) Breakfast was included and was standard free buffet fare, which I found completely satisfactory. There were a good variety of breads and muffins to choose from, plus eggs, sausage and waffles. Several juices, coffee and milk were all fresh and available. I would definitely stay here again.
