"I checked in here on a Friday night during the peak of the winter recreation season. Competing motels in McCall and Tamarack Resort were either booked up or charging more than a $100 per night, so I was very pleased to get a basic, queen room at this place for $50. At that low price, I was on the ..."lookout for shortcomings, but didn't find many. The inn was constructed fairly recently and appears well maintained. My room was spotlessly clean. The mattress was comfortable and I got a good night's sleep. I used the wifi and in-room coffee maker; both worked fine. The front desk clerk happily answered my questions about the surrounding area. I did notice some amenities that I have become used to elsewhere were not offered here. There is no longer a free continental breakfast (or any breakfast for that matter). No free morning newspaper. No toll-free reservations number. No pool or fitness center. If you plan accordingly on no-frills, you should leave satisfied with all the mone...

The grooming was well done and the amenities are very good for what they are. Since the resort looks like it was about 70% complete before it went bankrupt, it is interesting to see the huge unfinished base village and a giant unfinished lodge at mid-mountain. Too bad they did not build the unopened mid-mountain lodge at the base of the mountain, so they could open it instead of the funny white tents. This was the day before Presidents day weekend, and we had the whole resort to ourselves. I literally did not have to wait behind a single person at the lifts. Anyway the jury is still out on what will happen with Tamarack eventually, but I hope I will be able to t...
