  "We read of the opening of the Inn eleven years ago, and my friend (now wife) wanted to go but there were too many competing demands on our time. We finally made it two years ago and now try to return annually. The setting is wonderful, with views of California chaparral mixed in between vineyards...." There is truly no bad view from the property. Jan and John are excellent hosts always looking out for the comfort of the guests. A nightly wine and cheese social helps all the guests become acquainted, both with each other and with the family labelled wines. The breakfasts are delicious and large enough for even the most agressive hiker to fuel for the day. The remote nature of the Inn means you either avail yourselves of the facilities to fix dinner on-site, take the 11 or so mile drive to Soledad for some of the offerings in town, or go even further afield if you want something nicer. As most of the people who go to the Pinnacles are hikers, we had a bit in common with them and found that we caught up on the trails with some of the guests the next day. Breakfast was great, by the way, served by both John and Jan. Also, I have to give props to Jan who was so accommodating! Even though I had fouled up the dates of our reservation, she was able to fit us in for a one-night stay. Our trip was a bit of a bust due to really high winds that kept us off the trails and kept us from seeing much wildlife.
