We cannot fault this hotel in any way, it was extremely well run by hard working manager Helen who really led by example with an efficient and pleasant staff. We stayed in room 113 which ha..."s received some negative comments from another reviewer on this site but I really cannot understand what some people expect for their money. We found the room clean and comfortable, the service at the hotel was excellent and the chef must be complimented on the standard of the food. We are not a couple of old fogies who don't get around , we take many holidays throughout the year so I feel we are able to give good comparisons between one hotel and another, Very good value for money, thanks Helen and staff for a really enjoyable stay. Shame about some of the weather but us mere mortals have no control over that !! " More >

  "This is a first rate place to stay if you visit Llandrindod Wells. The greeting from Ruth on arrival was welcoming and friendly. I had a good sized, clean room and the breakfast was good. Portland House is well placed in the town and close to all the shops yet quite and relaxing."

My wife tried a treatment in The Spa that was fully booked at the time of her visit but her whole experience was enjoyable and relaxing. She was shown around the facilities the Spa had to offer.
