  "After an interesting boat ride to the lodge I was immediately in love! The raised board walk to our cabin was filled with wildlife...from a sloth hanging in the tree, a porcupine taking a nap above him, howler monkeys squabbling with each other and playing with their young to a nice assortment of b..."utterflies...and all this before we unpacked. I was apprehensive as I HATE mosquitoes but we were rarely bothered and the repellent worked fine. The cabin was individual with two beds a writing desk and bathroom. I had read there was no glass in the windows but did not really grasp the concept. The multiple windows have screens and decorative bars over the screens to prevent entry of anyone or thing that is uninvited. The ceiling fan and windows provided a comfortable sleeping environment and I wish I had brought a recorder with me for the "night sounds" that were more soothing than my sleep machine.   "We had a most enjoyable 3 night stay at Casa Marbella. Daryl went out of his way to ensure that our visit was memorable. A very tasty breakfast is served on the deck overlooking the river.   "I stayed at Anhinga Lodge as part of a Caravan tour. The wildlife is absolutely amazing and the birds, howler monkeys and crabs *under the walkways in numerous holes) right outside my lodge were really something. I wished I had brought a tape recorder to record the amazing jungle noises too. All in ..."all, I am really glad I got the chance to stay here and I really enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch especially. I made a big mistake though in not bringing more clothing. I brought 3 shirts which I thought would be sufficient for 2 days but I should have brought about 8. You get sweaty in a flash and the clothes don't dry so you put back on wet clothing and very unpleasant. I made the best of it by taking about 5 showers a day including in the middle of the night, drawing the curtains, and drying off naked beneath the room fan. But the heat was tough and I was glad to leave. I prefer bar soap and there was none (also no shampoo). You might want to bring both from your previo... " More >
