We never once had a bad meal and would quite happily eat here over and over. Staff are very friendly and happy to help. It is a very long way from Columbo but if you're travelling around the Cultural Triangle (as we were) then it's a good base. We enjoyed Sigiriya Rock and Dambulla Caves as well as an elephant ride.   "This place is really something special! My wife and I stayed for 3 nights with our 5yr old daughter, who immediately loved the open treehouse-like character of the guest house, same as us! Sleeping "halfway" in the surrounding jungle / fields was a unique experience. The open suites/ shared dining..." area was no problem as we shared it with a cool Australian father-son-combo. The whole place is wonderfully designed, a feast for the eyes and really something else!! We had dinner twice and found the food very exotic and different to a lot of other rice and curries we had in Sri Lanka, but very, very tasty! Breakfast was an absolute treat!! Wageesha, the owner, was extraordinarily friendly and hospitable, very knowledgeable and not in the least intrusive or pushy, all of which made for an unforgettable stay!!   "Never expected anything so good"
  "Sigiriya Village hotel was our first hotel on a fifteen day trip to Sri Lanka. We arrived after a 13 hour flight the car trip there stopping off for a visit to the cave temples in Dambulla and we couldn't have been more pleased to be there. OUr first room was a long way from the reception and dining..." room but it was beautiful, clean, cool and quiet. Outside there were gardens a river with a bridge and monkeys playing in the trees. The second day we were up-grade to a much bigger room in the row of bungalows near the reception. Unfortunatley the air-conditioning didn't work but the fan did so it wasn't a problem, there was a colum of ants climbing the wall in the shower but we decided to live and let live and later they left. The staff were all very professional and friendly particularly in the restaurant and as we stayed three nights they were very attentive and always smiling.
