  "This was my definite splurge of the trip and I wished I could have stayed longer. The hotel is a magnificent place to walk around and enjoy but its central location also makes it so easy for all sorts of day trips to Sigiriya, Dambulla Cave Temples, etc. Stayed just as the rains arrived to Sri Lanka..." and could watch the storms pass over the lake as the monkeys, birds, and bats fluttered around. It was magical. Though not a usual fan of hotel buffets, I preferred dining there to the dining room as the buffet had great food and was more relaxed. The Bawa design has held up remarkably over the decades and still impresses. Also looked that you are offered a tasty bit when you check out so you can leave with an extra sweet memory of the resort.
