Check out is at 1100 but departing guests are welcome to use the faclities after checkout (i.e.. take a shower between the Machu Picchu hike and the afternoon trains). But I am very happy we stayed 3 nights spending two full days at Machu Picchu and having evenings to walk through the town. I do not recommend attempting a day trip to Machu Picchu and not staying at a hotel of some kind. It's just not worth it. Stay at least one night if you can. The staff is excellent!!!!!! They meet you at the train station and walk you to the hotel. There are no cabs or cars in Aguas Calientes. They will handle your luggage if you need help. They take you to their lobby where they bring you a nice refreshing beverage and a snack. They explain everything to you. They will walk you to the bus cou... " More >
